    "rapid expansion of railroads and rail electrification would introduce the massive efficiencies" - Yes, this is our only hope. Europe has the extensive Eurorail system and we have nothing like it. Amtrak is very bare bones:

    Unfortunately, how will we fund such an extensive project in time? It won't happen because the public thinks we can drill our way out of this problem. The Collapse is underway right now.
