I know this is contrarian to the moment, but I think Apple is significantly undervalued right now. When you project earnings and growth to the future --- even absent iSlate optimism --- Apple should go to $350 in a 2-year time frame.
Apple's stock, today, is about where it was a year ago. But during that year slaes are up in every element of their business (in spite of the recession), their cash holdings are significantly higher, and they now own the profit in smart phones and music distribution. They are on the verge of new phones, a new touch computer, and new ventures with print and streaming media. In short, the future looks brighter than the past.
The growth of iPhone distributors, the change in accounting for iPhone profits, and the never-ending new product pipeline all auger well for the company. The only clouds to Apple's stock value would be Steve Job's health and the economy --- both of which have slowed the stock appreciation across the last year.
