  • How Clean Energy Fuels Could Become A $200 Stock [View article]
As I stated before storage and range will be crucial. For long haul truckers needs the CLNE plan of 1 station every 250 miles could be a pain but there are firms such as First Titan using composite materials to build better fuel cells. The real money will be made by those that bring CNG 'home'.
Imagine your wife pulling into your home 'fueling station' that automatically docks your Nat Gas coupling and refuels overnight.
Imagine her delight at never having to stand in the cold, wind and/or rain to refuel.
Imagine your delight when Iran and Saudi Arabia get into a price war because the USA cut it's imports of oil. China is happy to keep the dollar as the reserve currency as we pay off our debt in LNG.
There may not be great demand for public commercial fueling other than when not commuting which is where CLNE stations come in.
As to LNG tankers. Why truck it in when you can pipe it in and compress and/or cool it for local storage?
For any type of Nat Gas Act to be truly successful it MUST address infrastructure. By that I mean local compressor/heat exchanger and storage e.g.. Chart Industries.
In geek speak, PV=nRT - (Pressure)(Volume) = (constant based on state)(constant)(Tempe... Remember once you cool it to liquid state you have to keep it there or deal with the increased P or V.
Post me if you'd like to hear about Golar (GLNG), Floating Storage and Regasification Units and global transportation of LNG.
LNG could be America's financial saving grace. Count me in.

CLNE has signed agreements with established 'truck stops' such as Flying J and others. GE and Chesapeake have targeted 150 stations in two different sizes. Chesapeake is a large shareholder in CLNE. The biggest obstacle now is range vs. tank size. CLNE offers financing and/or franchising. CLNE has a well thought out marketing plan. Fleet sales (UPS, Pepsi et. al.), long haul trucking (America's Natural Gas Highway) and will probably leave individual consumers to GE/CHK, major oil add ons etc., until the infrastructure is fleshed out.
