  • Why You Shouldn't Sell Apple Just Yet [View article]
    Ray,
15 cents per $100 is as a ratio $.15/$100 or .0015 and multiplying by 100 to convert this to a percent is .15% not .0015%

I believe you mean to say 15 cents per $100 not .0015 cents.

  • Apple's CEO Discusses F1Q 2014 Results - Earnings Call Transcript [View article]

  • Looming iPhone Price War In China To Boost Apple [View article]
"But the cash-rich China Mobile can afford to offer very aggressive prices for its iPhone plans, potentially making the 5s and 5c competitive with some higher end domestically produced models."

Not surprising considering that Apple's iPhone 5S and 5C are also "domestically produced" models.

  • The Apple Comeback Begins [View article]
Android isn't a smartphone it's an operating system that Google gives away. Apple sells phones, so iPhone 5 verses Samsung Galaxy S4 would be a better comparison for example.
"Although the Galaxy S4 has sold faster than any other Samsung device, it appears that it still couldn’t surpass the sales rate for the iPhone 5"

  • 5 Reasons Apple Should Just Buy Sirius Already [View article]
Geeze I liked your idea until I read some of the comments. I feel Apple needs to buy something BIG to reinvigorate the company and generate some excitement into the stock. If not XM for $20B how about Twitter for $14B or even Yahoo for what $30B?

  • Apple (AAPL) roundup: 1) The WSJ reports Apple is shifting hardware orders from Foxconn to Pegatron, and plans to make Pegatron "the primary assembler" of its low-cost iPhone. Apple's reasons: risk diversification after last year's manufacturing issues, and pricing. 2) Apple is reportedly looking to tap Samsung to supply thin LCD glass for iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks. 3) Inside Apple author Adam Lashinsky wasn't impressed with Tim Cook's AllThingsD talk. "It is a strange sight to see the CEO of Apple, a company known for its brilliance and vision, decline over and over to discuss just about anything in any detail." 4) One detail shared by Cook: Apple has made 9 acquisitions in FY13. Only 2 - Particle and WiFiSlam - have been disclosed. [View news story]

  • Apple Needs To Spend Cash On R&D, Not Special Dividends [View article]
I agree and it looks like APPL's finally are getting the message. You can blame the low R&D spending on Job's his vision that marketing was the focus of new product development.
Under Tim Cook Apple R&D up nearly 40% in 2012
Apple's spending on research and development continues to rise, but is still dwarfed by that of rival technology companies.

  • The Massive Underperformance Of Apple Vs. Amazon [View article]
Apple has $137B cash Amazon has a market cap of $125B. If Amazon is really that good maybe Apple should consider buying it. :-) Actually Twitter for around $11B might make a more exciting acquisition and would likely give AAPL stock a shot in the arm don't you think?

  • "The chatter about Apple’s broader television plans has been picking up. And if that chatter is to believed, something is happening this fall — likely late fall," says Apple (AAPL) uber-fan MG Siegler, who seems to have a source or two in Cupertino. Siegler isn't sure whether a TV or a new set-top will arrive - the most recent rumors suggest the latter - and expects an SDK ahead of a product launch. The comments come shortly after Xbox (MSFT) co-founder Nat Brown bemoaned the Xbox's failure to appeal to small developers the way iOS and Android have[View news story]
I hope it's a set top box rather than an Integrated TV. I'd
hate to see Apple in the highly competitive, low margin
flat screen TV business. As others have said
most of the money will be in the software and content.
