  • Visa: Near-Term Fluctuations Present a Buying Opportunity [View article]
    I can't sleep either...

This post is quite long, but I wanted to share my point of view since I've been reading and been inspired by what everyone else has been writing...please bear with me...

I've been a fan of Visa for many many years. Never much liked anything about MA. I cycle all my personal and business expenses each and every day through my V cards. I don't see this slowing down or stopping just because we're in a recession. In fact, most of these monthly expenses are automatically billed to my V cards and will continue to be no matter what kind of economy we're in. I just wish I could pay my mortgages with my V card. I want the rewards!!!!

For some reason, that I can't quite pin down, I have always favored my V cards over other competitors. Maybe it was because they were accepted in more places or it was their snazzy advertising. Whatever it was they have been my card of choice for the past two decades.

V Winner and everyone else, thanks for all your insight and information on the subject of investing in V. This is my first foray into buying individual stocks and I knew right when I heard about this stock's IPO last Fall that it was going to be huge!! Now, here we are. I like what I've read, I like what I've seen about V's financials, its potential and what the majority of people have been saying on here. The overall general agreement is that V is a Winner from here to eternity and I couldn't agree more!

If I would have had my act together at the IPO I could have gotten in right then, but I delayed (my fear) and it took time to open my account (my research). But I did finally get in at $61.13 and again at $76.00! I am so glad I did!!

It reminds me of when I bought my first home. At the time, prices were just starting to rise and I thought now's the time to gamble and buy a house before the prices rise anymore. At the same time I was thinking this I was also thinking about how much of a gamble it was and if I was making the right decision. You say to yourself, even though I had this property inspected and I know all about the neighborhood, the comps, etc. it could still turn out to be a money pit.

Now, ten years later, I still own this house. It has more than doubled in value (even in today's market) and most importantly it provides me with a substantial monthly income for as long as I want to continue owning it.

This to me, is the essence of Visa. Buy it right, hold it for the long term and eventually, it will produce a nice income for you, while along the way increasing in value.

NOW, TODAY, this is one of those times in a person's life where the information is so clear, you know exactly what you have to do! I've been waiting a long time for a moment like this and to be ready for it and now its here!!

    V Winner,

Why is it that the major shareholders of Visa cannot sell any of their shares for three years when most everyone else only has to wait 6 months? What is the reasoning behind this and why Visa?

Thanks for all your insight by the way. It is much appreciated.
