"We are actually reviewing iPhones from a HSBC Group perspective ... and when I say that, I mean globally"

200,000 iPhones is a big order, but if this signifies a trend, the ripples could spread much farther. Phones are cheaper and replaced more often than computers. With Vista widely perceived as junk, and many companies holding off upgrading from XP, could a good corporate experience with the iPhone trigger the famous Apple 'halo-effect' and bring Macs into the office?

I don't usually comment in positive terms on seeking alpha but I feel compelled to say that your spot on with this article. As long as the people who have found themselves in this housing predicament are held accountable for full loan reimbursement then I agree that they could be offered some sort of terms that would allow them to stay in their current mortages. If they could simply add years to the loan to recapture the discounted months, maybe that could tide them over. And this should only apply to people with one primary mortage. Speculators who have gotten caught with their hands in the cookie jar need not apply. The domino effect from the fall out hurts me and everybody else who meets their obligations every month and tries to live within their means. Absolutley no one should be given a free pass by the government or the banks for not being able to live up to the terms of their loans. Jul 22 10:55 AM
