  • Cook defends 5C's pricing, analysts set weekend iPhone targets [View news story]
I have the Nexus 7 and it isn't as good as the first generation iPad.

Nexus 7: Youtube videos are locked portrait mode? I've googled fixing that but it's shocking that it is released that way...

Then there is the keyboard issue where android keyboard locks up and you can't type anything. SUPER ANNOYING. Just makes me want to return it but instead I let me 2 year old son play with it but he too prefers a gen 1 iPad.

Oh and while i'm thinking about it, the cable connector on the Nexus (and all android devices) is so frustrating that most of the time when you go to plug it in, it is so tight and tricky to get in that I flip it over thinking it must be upside down when in fact it wasn't. Trying to plug it in while in low lighting is almost impossible. Inferior components absolutely tell the story on the Nexus IMO.

Not exactly "junk" but nothing great about cutting all the corners you can to make a cheap product.

  • Sirius XM - The Poster Child For Poor Marketing [View article]
Thanks for the article. I totally agree that Payton Manning calling the station change out via XM is just horrible. It's like the commercial was made way back when XM was just as strong as Sirius and some people would know what he was doing in the ad. I noticed it and I did "get it" but I feel that only existing subscribers would even catch the comment and understand it. People who are new to the service or have never heard of it before would completely miss that reference and that seems really obvious to me.

If SiriusXM paid for that ad (which I know they did), they totally wasted their money....

Although this marketing attempt was completely laughable, I believe it really highlights the bigger problem of supporting both Sirius and XM brands. Still to this day if you have a Sirius account and buy a used/new car with an XM receiver it will be completely useless and if you call them up they will do their best to transfer your account to the "XM" side of the business. I am not sure but I believe both companies Sirius & XM still have different call center teams that still constantly try to raise their own numbers at the expense of the other side of the business.

SiriusXM is not only the poster child for poor marketing but also the poster child for poor merging.

Stephen you have gone on a run of accurate predictions that would make Socrates, the Mayans and all wall street analysts wonder how the hell you are able to be so correct!!

I've always taken what you say very seriously but now you have absolutely proven your knowledge of the market to the point that I will always invest real $ on your advice and predictions going forward.

    You are the MAN!!!

  • Sirius XM Radio (SIRI) moves up 1.5% premarket as traders keep evaluating the impact the Disney-Netflix deal will have on the company. SA author Stephen Faulkner predicted the reaction, calling the downward spike in SIRI yesterday off the Netflix news as overdone. His take on the complicated entanglement of Liberty Media, Starz, and Netfliz: "Both Sirius XM's and Starz's performance will impact Liberty Media's valuation, but Sirius XM and Starz do not affect each other." [View news story]
Stephen Faulkner still gets my vote for SIRI's new CEO that's how well he knows the business and stock!

  • The board of Sirius XM Radio (SIRI) forms a search committee to find a replacement for the outgoing Mel Karmazin. The quick readthrough by RBC Capital analyst David Bank of the retirement of Karmazin is that the Sirius could take on more debt and increase its leverage, the game plan Liberty Media's John Malone (LMCA) used with DirecTV. [View news story]
    I vote for Stephen Faulkner...

  • Sirius XM Jumps To $2.97, And Investors Hit The Floor [View article]
Good to know, or at least be pretty sure that institutional investors are jumping in with big buys... Also, good point about Mel not disappointing Wall Street - I suppose that is the up side to always guiding conservatively.

I however am expecting no mention of any buybacks any time soon (before Liberty takes control). It's also his usual to not speak of burning questions on everyone's minds so i'm sure that will be announced on the day it happens and no sooner.

  • Sirius XM Closes At $2.80 - Ready For More? [View article]
You are right and I am celebrating being correct more than their being wrong but you are correct as usual that they most definitely shook out loads of shares from some less convicted SIRI shareholders by their constant bashing and slamming of the stock and longs alike.

Not only that fact but for me I just find it annoying when people have nothing good to say about any company or anything in general. Simply put, they are just naysayers.... I'd much rather read about a company you do like and why you like them as an investment / trade opportunity than the easier to write piece about why a certain company sucks and why they are doomed to failure especially when they are completely wrong.

  • Sirius XM Closes At $2.80 - Ready For More? [View article]
Oh man I love this article, I love SIRI and I really love how wrong Rocoo Pendola, Richard Saintvilus, and Regarded Solutions have been and likely will always be. Throw in the dive Pandora is making now that Microsoft is stomping on their toes and i'm really just floating around in space enjoying the view (from a Sirius satellite of course).

Stephen, you write exactly what I would write if I had time and your level of understanding of the market. Never stop and know that we really appreciate your articles and insight.

I want to add that once LMCA is in control and the buybacks start, I feel this stock is going much higher than people are anticipating. It's going to be as much about the buybacks themselves as it is about the CERTAINTY that Liberty is in it FOR SIRI not against it in anyway. Once that last piece of uncertainty is removed there really is no limit to the gains we will all see. It's just logic which the above mentioned SA contributors didn't seem to have. (past tense because they vanished)

    SXM LONG AND STRONG!!!

  • How Sirius Could Grow Its Bottom Line [View article]
Interesting... I'm sure you are right that it would indeed keep many more people as subscribers that bail after they receive their first bill for the car and then are asked to pay another new bill for radio like you said.

However, I guess it is a tough battle with the car dealers because anything that raises the cost of the vehicle itself would be hard to implement as they might consider that a harder sell of the vehicle if it costs more...

Having said that, adding it as an option from the factory might be an good idea like, power seats, power moonroof, siriusxm radio. The risk there is people might just say no thanks although they would have signed up if they experienced the product for three months and got to see its value.

Either way I like your thinking...

  • Technology Trends: Runners' Nighttime Safety [View article]
Nice article, i'm a big believer in ORYN and have invested in them over the last few months on the dips. IMO, it's just a matter of time before the company explodes with no real competition and a super innovative product that is really a sight to see. I think their stock price will have a wonderful 2013 and anyone not onboard now should consider getting in while the stock is still under $1.00.

The big difference between all the reflective materials you can wear at night and Elastolite is that those reflective materials only illuminate when another light source hits them. What Oryon has built is revolutionary as it is it's own light source and i'd venture to guess it is at least twice as visible and twice as safe for a jogger running at night while wearing it.

There is tons of interest in ORYN growing monthly, imagine one deal with Nike or any other apparel company and the stock is absolutely going to sky rocket...
