I think Microsoft's comments seem more and more laughable....almost as much as Balmer's post iPhone announcement assessment of the iPhone's chances of success.

What if ATT decides to subsidize the iphone by $200 (as it does with RIMMs products) only to make the data plan comparable in cost to RIMM's ($40 or $50). No one seems to realize that while edge is pokey on the iphone, $20 a month for all you can eat data is a bargain. ATT probably realizes this and will increase the cost of their iphone (3G) data plan.
