  • Apple (AAPL) drops to $405.86 - going negative after hours - as the company's earnings call (streaming audio) continues. (Earnings report[View news story]
Analyst's say whatever they want to move the stock where they need it to go. Apple beats on earnings, revenue, etc...it goes down further. Market is one big media race, if you don't know people close in it, you're never going to do well.

  • Tim Cook responds to criticism of Apple's (AAPL -1.6%) Chinese repair/warranty policy by state-owned media outlets and a government agency by issuing an apology letter that outlines repair policy changes for the iPhone 4 and 4S. Separately, Fidelity Contrafund, Apple's biggest active shareholder, discloses it cut its stake in the company by 10% in January and February, to 10.4M shares. [View news story]
Agreed, have we not been waiting long enough for next "innovation", increased dividend, or share buy-back? The stock continues to suffer and shareholders are getting angrier and angrier. I thinks it's about time to pull the trigger Mr. Cook, any trigger. And no, not an April Fool's joke.

  • BlackBerry Q4 Earnings Highlights: What You Need To Know [View article]
Perfect, Blackberry, a company who's cell phone is slowly dying misses on quarterly earnings, but is up ~4%. Apple beats product expectations, has solid fundamentals, and sits on a huge cash hoard; gets beat down. There really is no rhyme or reason to any of this is there? I wouldn't expect BBRY to do much else in the industry, similar to the android market. Most companies are switching or have switched to the IPhone as their company's business phone of choice.

  • Apple - It's All About Earnings [View article]
I'm less concerned about Apple's earnings than I am about either a new product or news on their cash hoard. It's been a roller coaster these past few months and investors would like some news, any news, from Cook about upcoming events for Apple. Getting sick of waiting...

  • Apple (AAPL +1.5%) has shot higher in afternoon trading. Rumors about a special dividend appear to be the trigger. (earlier: I, II[View news story]
Appears as though the rumor mill is rearing its ugly head once again...the bears don't believe the stock should be where it is...pump in some media, ride the wave until real news breaks...then watch the sell-off. Seems like a trend.

  • Though it pulled Prop. 2 after David Einhorn scored an injunction, Apple (AAPL -0.5%) is still committed to requiring shareholder approval for issuing preferred stock, the company states at its shareholder meeting. Also, CalPERS says it would have voted for Prop. 2 if it had the chance. A proposal granting shareholders an advisory vote on exec. compensation has been approved, while one requiring execs to keep 33% of their stock until retirement has been shot down. Doug Kass might be disappointed to learn no stock split has been announced (or perhaps not). (live blog[View news story]
Same crap, different Apple meeting...when are we going to hear news that actually affects shareholders in a positive way? No reason for the stock to be at these levels, yet Cook doesn't want to do anything about it.
