Precious Metal Miners: Post Earnings Season Analysis, Part 1

What do you think about the performance of GLD vs. the miners at this point? It seems GLD might be outperforming miners if the market goes down as it has in the past few days. Miners could be subject to higher input costs due to inflation?

I agree with you, Felix. I can't imagine anyone would want airlines now. They are in the process of losing their top customers, business flyers who will no longer have much budget for travel, so no one left to pay for seats. And how much can they raise prices - no one has any $$ to pay them. Some people do have to fly, but they will be the only ones doing so, everyone else will find other ways.

Re: Sec 2 (a): I just read today that not only will we be bailing out banks headquartered in the US but additionally, all the foreign banks that have operations in the US, if you can believe it!!! Just load it on, B&P, we American taxpayers will bail out the world!

And secondly, can I just mention how angry it makes me that Paulson gets away with saying that this plan will be 'cheaper' for the taxpayer than any other?! How the &***%$# does he know? NO one knows what it will cost, and it will take years to really see the full, horrible impact. By then, B&P will be sunning themselves at their foreign beach houses somewhere.
