    Jack- Great article. Thanks for the companies & links.

    In the early 80's, there was a buzz on "strategic minerals". The one I remember was cobalt and other steel related alloy elements. This was also a prime time for commodities, with high inflation and the cold war, hence the buzz. I thought the govt was laying in a stockpile at that time. Of course, things change and the stockpile may have been used; as well as what's considered strategic.
