      Fig. 2 shows the index for the cost of oil and the cost of E & P being equal in 2003. For 2007 the cost of oil was double the cost of E & P. So, even if it is cyclical the spread is very large and E & P costs are not going to drop anytime soon. Jun 15 09:48 AM

      More oil is being found offshore West Africa. Hyperdynamics(HDY) just reported a new play estimated to be in the thousands of millions of barrels of oil in the Republic of Guinea transform margin geological zone. That is just one of many in their 31,000sq mi oil concession. And all selling for $2.16. Check it out!
      The U.S. plans on increasing its supply of oil from West Africa by 15% over the next twenty years. While world oil supply is limited we are currently constrained from producing more oil by shortfalls in equipment and professionally trained people. Xenon

    • Why Exxon Still Denies Peak Oil [view article]
      Exxon does need quit holding on and move to diversify into other more "green" energy sources.
      They could buy huge potential reserves from the small Houston based oil company Hyperdynamics(HDY). They hold the largest oil concession offshore West Africa. They are developing a portfolio of oil reserve prospects that is larger then Exxon's. The stock sells for $2.17 on May 02,08. Last weeks estimate of only one lead after seismic data was published was in the range of a 4.8 billion barrel find. That is an estimate not a proven calculation. But the stack was one thousand feet deep!
