  • Is It Time to Buy? What History Shows [View article]
I wonder if you read your own sources. Far from being bullish, Grantham in his interview expressed the probability that the market will fall another 20-30%. This article strikes me as part rubbish, part wishful thinking.

  • Bill Gross: Politicking for His Own Bailout [View article]
Bill Gross and his confreres have done us all a great public service. By buying distressed assets too early, they have helped spread the losses. Please, let's leave them underwater and not deprive them of an opportunity to continue to bear their burden with our heartfelt thanks!

  • ProShares' Financial ETFs vs. Real Estate ETFs - Which Should You Own? [View article]
A belated comment, but as of today (8.13), none of the top 25 holdings in URE matches the top 25 in UYG (per Morningstar), so the weighting of the two will be quite different and in may, indeed, make sense to hold both and short both through SRS and SKF, depending on one's views of the two markets. Of more interest than the portfolio overlaps maybe the questions of correlation and amplitudes and whether we are likely to see divergences in coming months.

  • What’s Behind the Slide in Gold and Silver?  [View article]
Interesting, if sometimes unnecessarily obscure essay. Perhaps, though you don't mean "jettisoning" silver to $20. To jettison is to cast overboard, as a ship does waste or nonessentials to stay afloat. The castoffs presumably sink, not soar.
