Also - I dont' want to distract from the real subject here and that is Visa analysis. So - hopefully we can get back to that. I am long with my core position at 100 shares.

Hey Spud,
.56 cents, yep, Scottrade says 56 cents now too. But - there is still two weeks to go to the 23rd of May. If it hits 90 next week I should be alright, dont you think?

Hey Spud,
Thanks for your reply. I think I needed to hear that. I guess I am just concerned that it wont reach the strike price or come up enough because of the theta. Then again I guess it could come roaring back.
I need help. I took a quick course on options trading and thought I knew everything. I took a 200 contracts on Visa at a strike price of $95 at 1.10. At end of Day it was .56.
I am new to options and this is too maddening for me.

Lesson learned.
You might not believe but I have never traded options before...well that is until today.
Let those that have ears to hear....
Contrary to the good advice here on the board I think there is easy money to be made. Being 90% invested I borrow the money to do an options call on two of my favorite stocks...
One being Visa I bought 200 contracts at 1.10 per contract at a strike price of $95. At close of market the options price on this contract was .60. Now I lost approximately 10k. Unlike stocks there are many complicated factors (I dont understand all of them fully). But one I do understand is Theta which means that the closer I get to the expiration date the less the value. The contract is not contingent strictly on the stock price.
Also I did another call on Best Buy June contract of $45 call and bought it (when I thought it bottomed) at 1.35 and 100 contracts.
I feel that options trading are frowned on by many on this board and for very good reason. THOSE EVEN THINKING OF GETTING INTO IT I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO RECONSIDER. Maybe I will be alright and maybe I won't. At any rate it's pretty maddening as you get closer to that expiration date.
Now, I brought this up here for a couple of reasons. 1 - sharing this with someone that understands makes me feel better.
2- Any advice what I should do now?
Again, I in know way intend this post to advocate options trading I just want some advice from someone that might be able to help me? Should I just sell it before the contract date and recoup my losses or hold on for the strike price?

Hey Jeff!
Right on and good information!! Thanks for the great post! In essence does anyone think the stock will just go straight up? Na, of course not, we are all smarter than that. It just feels so good on the days it does go straight up we just want it to continue....I am pretty happy with the pull back actually.

Some more positive news about Visa for those that hear these rumours about MA having more International exposure:
According to the Nilson Report, about 63% of the credit cards in the world carry the Visa brand, compared with 31% for MasterCard logo. In 2006, Visa processed 44 billion transactions, or 45% more than the number processed by its three biggest competitors combined -- MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
