Meow - you made me smile. I am thinking of buying 100 contracts at the strike price of $100. Anyone disagree?

I am new to Options as well but it seems a much easier way to make $$$$. Go this link to understand, it give you an option (pardon the pun) to take a course. Options also seems to give the little guys a chance to make much money. To me the difference with options vs. the stock market is that when you buy the option is that if it doesnt reach it's strike price by the time the option expires it's worthless; You are still out the premium you pay.

For example you buy 1 contract to purchase 100 shares in the June call (The third Friday of every month is the call date). The stock price when you buy is lets say $88. Remember each contract is for 100 shares. Well you dont buy the stocks you just buy the option to buy the stock. You only pay the premium which would probably cost me on my site (scottrade $240) Now - if that options contract hits the $100 strike you can then or any time thereafter sell it and you keep the profit. ($1200). Or if you were to risk $2400 of your money you would profit $12000.

Its a little more complicated then this and if I am not explaining right someone correct me.

    Vwinner-

Why not buy all calls at $105 and if the stock rises to $100 you can still sell to get out of it because the value of your option is raised.

What is the advantage of the stock hitting the strike price?

Yos Vendijanto - thanks for that link to options it helps a lot.

Roughly and the way I understand this. If I buy the contract for 10 calls at 100 in June I will make $12 a share or 12,000? I keep the profit, pay the premium and that's it? If it expires I just pay the premium?

    Right?

    Hey options guys,

If I buy 10 June contracts for V at 100 and it hits 100 from the close of 88.50 today, how much do I make?

twinturbo - go go go, I would be betting that much if I had it. Just make sure that you hang in there during the pullback.

Vwinner thanks again for your insight its pretty educational!

Everyone else thanks for all the great posts.

As far as the pullback, there has to be one, but look at the great stocks like MA and GOOG, look at their charts. Yes, they drop. There is just too much money in Visa for their not to be a pullback. Remember we all think differently. Some of that money is going to be more conservative and cash out as we all think differently. I agree with Vwinner that a pull back when the stock goes over $100. I see a $5-$10 pullback and then the price will go back up. Remember your reasons for INVESTING is that this is a great company with a lot of great future growth. So check your emotions at the door when we see the pullback. Hop on this board and vent your emotions here.

Our leader - Vwinner - will guide us right. (Vwinner, you wrong the lynch mob cometh!) lol - make your disclaimer now. lolol

visa=$$$$ - I am going out to drink a beer in our honor tonight. I will high five you from afar and you all other Visa Junkies.

    ONE THING!~!!!!!

We are all on a good emotional high right now. When we get a pull back check your emotions and remember your reason.

We have thought this out together and know, we know this stock cannot and will not tank. So we all must pledge to hang in there!!!!

    See you all tomorrow!!!
