China On Brink Of Electricity Shortfall - FT
      Last update: 7/16/2008 6:46:37 PM
TOKYO (Dow Jones)--China faces its worst power shortage in at least four years as soaring coal prices and government-set electricity tariffs force dozens of small power plants to shut down rather than face mounting losses, the Financial Times reported Thursday. Nearly half of China's provinces have started to ration electricity as the country enters the peak summer season, facing what analysts describe as its worst coal shortage, the paper said. Analysts warn this year's electricity shortfall could be more severe than in 2004, when the country was affected by its worst power shortage ion decades because of soaring demand for power as the economy boomed. Coal prices in China have double since the start of the year. Beijing last month imposed price controls on thermal coal bought directly from mines but spot market prices continued to rise. About 38% of China's coal supply last year came from small-scale operations. Many of these have since been closed by the government in an attempt to improve safety conditions in the sector, the FT said.
Remember to purge your portfolio of any stocks that will be shut down due to Chinese pollution laws prior to the Olympics or be ready to pick up a few companies that will not benefit from this law and will see their shares falling.

    • Crocs: Successful Brand or Victim of Cheap Imitations? [view article]
I closed my CROX position last year October to add to my POT stock. Some oil and gas profits were recently reinvested into this cyclical shoe and cash until this market is at a level I feel comfortable to play.
Is CROX a fad? Absolutely, just like the 15 year UGG fad.
Knockoffs? Plenty, but cheap enough to have Brand loyal support.
Solid branding, new product lines, expensive accessories, comfort, and new international support.
Between October 1-31 I will sellout of CROX again just when I need to put away my sandals, get out my winter boots, back up the oil / gas market truck to heat my home, and before I see their international shipping bill costs!!!
There is too many weak handed shareholders to hold this stock annually.-Including me!
CASH is my favorite ticker lately.
Some spec cash invested in what I will believe will be the 2008 WSA footwear line winner www.skinsfootwear.com/ Skins Inc (SKNN.OB) ticker @ .18 cents
The biggest long term difference between CROX and SKNN ?
SKNN is completely patented something I wish CROX had!
FYI Shoe Man's mention of new CROX models priced at $220 to $300 are lines not yet launched to the public and will be on display in August for retailers only at WSA.

    • Indevus Pharmaceuticals: Nebido Has Lost Its Libido [view article]
This FDA decision limits 4 to 5 million American men suffering from Hypogonadism to the use gel/patch/pellet.
Pellet - most invasive requires surgery. The FDA approved an operation as it is safer than an injection?

Gels - least invasive daily applications with fluctuation even when they remember to apply everyday. The FDA approved self medication over medical supervision?

What does Europe and the 70 countries worldwide who administer long-acting depot formulation understand that the FDA does not?
Low testosterone has huge medical, financial, social and emotional costs:
      diabetes
      coronary artery disease
      hypothyroidism
      hyperlipidemia.
      increased body fat
      poor concentration and memory
      reduced bone and muscle mass
      diminished libido
      erectile dysfunction
      decreased physical performance

The FDA wants to impose a 2 year delay because improper injection caused reversible shortness of breath and coughing?

Excellent to read the FDA’s integrity is being questioned not just by congressional hearings but by the public for which they suppose to serve and protect!

    • Oilsands Quest: What's in a Name? [view article]
Glad to see you are investing in the Canadian Oilsands!
Seymour Prophet you stated last June "I believe that, upon the company’s September-October update, BQI’s stock will be propelled upwards towards $22 per share as investors speculate on the potential economics of a joint venture with a Big Oil company."
Instead of holding out for their partnership or their TSX listing promise you should have been playing companies in the Oilsands and Natural Gas that are profitable and would have made you $. Then you could have taken those profits and invested in this spec stock.
Wish BQI the best of luck living up to their shareholders quest.
