I worked at Boeing for 40 years, retiring in 2008. I took a 2 1/2 year break in-between two stints at Boeing. A friend started a S/W company (Highlands Computers Services – sounded right to us because we both worked for Boeing Computer Services) selling S/W for Apple computers and that became an all-consuming venture for me, so I quite my Boeing job to devote full time to it, as did my friend. Our AppleSoft editor, CRAE, was the most popular editor out there; even The WOZ bought a copy from us at the West Coast Computer fair in San Francisco, back in 1982! :) But S/W copying was rampant back then and we both wound up going back to Boeing – luckily for us, they took us back (Boeing’s a very good company to work for). During our break from Boeing, we both worked at the A.P.P.L.E. club, which back then was a very big deal. Early in the personal computer era, you had to join a club to find out how to use them! :)

Evaluation of the dominant assumptions and an understanding of the dynamics of the economic engine is the basis of an approach to asset allocation that provides for both a rational determination of value and an understanding of sentiment in the form of price as a measure of the irrational nature of the operational environment, an approach that is intended at once to avoid unnecessary risk while at the same time enable gradual rebalance of assets as a means to increase net worth via optimization of appreciation and long term yields. Let's call that buy low and fly high just for fun.
