  • Greg Reid: Geothermal, the 'Sleeping Giant' [View article]
Thank you for the updated information. I am hoping to cash in on the rise of the industry. They are scheduled to be online in twelve months (4/2010). They have reached imortant milestones in the development of the resource. In particular, they have a 20 year, $500,000 contract signed with Pacific Gas & Electric based on fixed $/Mw. They have their contracts signed with NCPA (Northern California Power Association.) Their steam turbine is under construction and is slated for delivery in August. They have over half the needed steam (19+MW) behind pipe with three holes left to finish drilling.
Additioonally, they are slated to have thier second plant also under construction in Canada operational in 2011
See westerngeopower.com for exact information. They have a periodic newsletter you may sign up for free. They are trading on the pink sheets WGPWF at $0.20-.024 under increasing volume.

  • The Green New Deal: Stocks That Stand to Benefit [View article]
Other Alt-E companies will benefit as well. Geothermals will be money machines. Western Geopower Corp. has a 35Mw plant under construction in CA at Healdsburg which will be generating power by April of 2010. WGPWF on the pink sheets. Speculative. High reward to risk ratio. • The Five Most Important Energy Forecasts of 2008  [View article]
Geothermal seems to be the least discussed Alt-E resource and one of the cleanest most consistent producers. Why do you suppose that is?

The political system is encouraging power production of this type and the carbon credit markets will find footing in the near future. Projects are being developed worldwide and will likely gain additional favor in days/yrs to come. I am an advocate of the technology and can not see any real downside to it.

The West has a number of new and existing plants. Western Geopower Inc. is moving ahead with their project at the Geysers in Healdsburg (Napa County, CA) will be online with a new 35Mw plant in April 2010 and currently has over half its needed steam behind pipe. They have PG&E and NCPA contracts signed and is poised to meet or beat its April 2010 deadline for plugging in to the grid. Western (WGPWF)is a speculative play priced in the 12 cent range, which in a matter af a few short months aught to bring a minimum of a ten-fold return. You heard it here first.

  • Time For Another Look At Geothermals? [View article]
If you are seeking an interesting early stage play, Western Geopower Inc has a plant in development in the California wine country at The Geysers--Healdsburg that is slated to come on line in April 2010. They have contracts signed for 20 years with Pacific Gas and Electric for $500,000,000... which is at $98/MW. They have couple holes drilled that have the high temp and pressure needed for this project. Engineers are pleased with results.

This is a speculative play since the plant is still being built and they are burning cash. For those with the stomach for it, this is likely to be a ten to twenty bagger. WGPWF on the pink sheets trading at $0.23. Just a thought for those wanting to make a groung floor play in this sector.

    I am long WGPWF
