You can get a sense for which stocks he lost money on, check the performance of the stocks he recommended in the past. Although there have been many winners, he's picked some real losers as well. And if he did what he says he does, he would have bought more of the losers on the way down.

Nobody should blindly follow these recommendations, especially because there is so little accompanying analysis with the recommendations. However, it is useful to have a strating point for your own research.

I find Glen's articles most useful for highlighting small/micro caps that may not have good coverage elsewhere. Then I follow-up with my own research.

I agree with Georealist. Do not let your sense of personal ethics cloud your investment sense. Commodities cycles take years to play out and coal still has a long way to go. Shorting coal now is very foolish
