  • America Must Rebuild Domestic Battery Manufacturing Infrastructure [View article]
    Battery technology was first invented in 1800, and has made very little progress for the time elapsed since first discovery. They are still heavy, massively polluting and inefficient electricity storage devices. Physics can't be changed or even altered.....massive amounts of electricity cannot be stored. All attempts to make this world into one powered by batteries is futile and stupid, and perhaps even more stupid and polluting than the internal combusiton engine.

    The necessary breakthrough will be when the electricity for household, vehicle and industrial use is produced in quantity as it is needed, clean and efficient and non-polluting. If we must blindly pursue improving battery tech, that tech will be best used for personal gadgets.
