    One of the most aggravating and insulting things to the public about Detroit's arrogance in the face of its abject failure in the auto business is its insistance upon maintaining huge executive salaries that are often 20 to 30 times as much as comparable global automaker's executive salaries in comparison to the average wage paid on the work floor.

    Today's decision by Ford to finally cut salaries is a first step toward regaining some sanity. Too late, IMHO, and only done for political reasons rather than for finally seeing the light.
