  • Are Strike Worries Causing AT&T's Stock to Lag? [View article]
Steve i must admit your a class act , in the face of my backhanded comment. I must tell you honestly a comment from my supervisor and we do all know...that they aren't positioned well at all for a strike. Most of the supervisors know nothing about the craft jobs and they are for the most part the lol replacements! I do respect you and still don't think analysts have much understanding of how most businesses really work, but hey u gotta have a job too right?

the nuts is right on the money!!!! i'm a employee too and your point about the uverse customers is right on. People will not wait for video to be restored days later!! Also steve is just a analyst not a employee they all think they know the nuts and bolts of all businesses lol so they can write their crap and sound like they know what their talking about. The point is they've lost 19 million wirelines and their profits are still growing, lol , once again the sky is falling!! NO one points out we are hedged against wireline loss by the largest cell phone company in the u.s.! Also uverse is just starting to get rolling, their is just a lot of upside left!! TIME IS definitely on our side , as the economy starts coming back and more contracts expire.... bellsouth and the ibew contract in the midwest!!!!Also verizon settled their contract and guess what their was no give backs!! I'm digging in for a strike if need be. Ed Whitacre got the 4 largest retirement package ever in history, so i think they can afford it!!!THE NUTS your a sharp guy!!

  • Who's Winning the Cable Service Provider Wars? [View article]
What i find interesting, is that uverse is almost what fios is in overall satisfaction at a fraction of what verizon spent. att is betting their will be a cheaper avenue for the last mile within a short time .....they are taking fiber to the home on any new construction. But to take verizon's route and start tearing out all copper facilities and taking fiber to the house is ultra expensive and personally i have uverse and it works excellent. Ed Whitacre was very smart to take a cheaper route and have a excellent product at the 1/3 of what verzion spent, yet be able to trounce cable's product. Everybody hates cable and the service they don't have with their gimmick marketing......i'd be shorting cable and buying telco's verizon and att at their cheap prices right now!!!!!

  • Comm Forecast No. 1: No More Landlines [View article]
this guy skipped over a very good point wireless isn't going to replace copper for businesses anytime in the very near future! Wireless as a residential customer is adequate at best! As long as you have dsl to a house , it will be on a copper line as long as your in a att area! This guy doesn't have a clue how long it takes and how much money it'll cost for a fiber network! i've placed and spliced fiber for over 15yrs. and its gonna take a lot longer then obama's first term lol!!! Once again you have another guy talking who doesn't have a clue!!!Do yourself a favor don't add this guy to your watch list, he has no clue! markburlison

  • Further Discussion on 'No More Landlines' Assertion [View article]
u still miss the point , this is all dollar driver! At att we have copper from the 1950's still working! u don't understand the huge capital investment it costs to build a network! u think they keep paying repair costs on copper because they like it???? no its a huge investment in a day when the pressure by the shareholder and analysts to come up with double digit profit!! Have u ever driven around in rural areas???? It'll be a long time before u reach them with fiber!! Also it probably won't happen because its not cost effiecent with the cost of the vrad and fiber, u have too much bandwidth for such small applications! We blew the budget again this year trying to push the fiber network deeper just for our vrad build in the midwest! That's just deploying fiber to the cross box, let alone get it to the house! The last mile is still a huge problem and time factor! READ MY LIPS , WHEN YOUR BURIED THEIR WILL STILL BE COPPER WORKING!

  • ATT's Two-Acquisition Week: Latest Buy Is Centennial [View article]
they spent billons and billons less then verizon! Why does j d powers rate the u verse product over fios????????they are blowing their budget trying to get fiber close enough to deploy uverse!!!!!!!little lone get it to the house!!!!!The last mile may change again in the near future and wireless my turn out to be the answer(not now). But with technology changing this fast i don't think its worth the capital!!!! They needed a tv technology and this is a very good one! obviously fiber is superior, but the cost is astronomical! i'm a employee and not thrilled with our managment , but even by employing uverse your pushing fiber to the cross box! so the penetration is getting deeper!! lighten up it'll be alright!

  • Was the iPhone Deal Worth It for AT&T? [View article]
they just continue to beat up on att, no matter what they do and they just continue to make lots of money lol, really its just unbelievable! Their the only american carrier to have a worldwide 3g network and i have it and it is quick and the edge network isn't bad at all! Their new u verse tv was voted no.1 by jd powers over even the supposed superior fiber to the house verizon fios offering!!!Their video build cost a fraction of verizon's also!! They have the largest i p backbone in the world!!! Crank out a great dividend and no matter what the analysts just won't give them any credit.....any right now their stock price is very cheap!!!!And they have the coolest cell phone in the world the i phone!!!!!!!!! I guess they all must be just jealous of this fabulously successful company!!!!
