  • Google Aims to Halve the Cost of Solar Power [View article]
No really sure how you are tying Microsoft in this. Google has been ver active since last decade on alternative energy and lowering its datacenter energy costs, much before Microsoft. Granted, MS' research departments are very good, we don't see too many of it trickling into their products.

    Thanks for a good post.

  • Auto Sharing Boosts Green Industry  [View article]
It will be interesting to see how this develops, especially in congested cities, where it makes most sense. We are hoping it will involve more pure electric cars in the short term future so that it drastically reduces pollution.

p.s., the notion of car sharing is an old one. The French author/singer Boris Viand thought of a similar strategy in Paris where people would leave cars open to anyone with a box to put money for fuel whenever needed. OK, so it isn't exactly ZipCar's business plan but outrageous ideas eventually come about.

  • Mac vs. PC vs. Gold [View article]
I was a computer consultant for years and eventually got burnt on Windows (3.0 to XP). What did I do? In 2004 I bought a PowerBook g4 and I am happy to report the darn thing is still not only working very well, but answers all of my needs today, even if I don't consult in the same industry anymore. Yes, Apple has less computers to offer than other companies, what they offer is top notch and just plain old works. What a relief it is to have a machine that works and doesn't get in my business way. Yeah, I smile when I use my laptop again... or what is it now, notebook?

  • Google and GE Team Up for Green Energy [View article]
Excellent and brilliant. Yes, indeed Microsoft misses out because it is a market driven company based on old business models with no vision outside of market shares. Google has wider visions for the future.

Oh, one thing, it's Google and GE, not Google and GM :)
