Keep watching CMP, they have had a real good run, but on low volume. Profit taking today, but has some interesting things going on with the stock. God Bless.

  • Two Reasons CF Looks Headed for Big Profits [View article]
It will be interesting to see if TRA accepts the bid, and or another company gets into the bidding war. Not only is it a good fit, I think that CF is getting them quite cheap, and there very well could be an opposing offer. It seems that all of the fertilizer companies know that there are good times ahead. Technologies improving margins and a growing world eating more meat everyday, has caused much more volatility. Not to meantion the biofuels situation. At some point soon the economy wil pull out of this financial mess, and these companies should take off. The one thing about the fertilizer industry to remember is management. The reason this is so important is that for decades the fertilizer industry has run on very low margins, and slow methodical growth. The managers of these companies are masters of pinching the penny. They will take the downturn in stride and come out well. No matter what happens bot companies are cheap, and global demand should increase to where it was within the next year. Great hypothesis.

Tim, good insite into the subject. I believe there is a misunderstanding with respect to TRA's business. They were bid down like any other nitrogen business, when theirs is worth much more do to higher margins. Either way you are right and these companies were good apart, but now they look fantastic together. CF has well positioned themselves for this takeover.

  • CF's Terra Industries Takeover: Win-Win [View article]
This was a very interesting acquisition. Since all of the fertilizer companies are undervalued, nitrogen seems the least appealing. I believe this is a good buy though, TRA's production of nitrogen is much cheaper than many of their rivals. This being said, it was much cheaper to bring them on line. Look for some of the potash producing companies to be acquired, such as SQM, CMP, as POT takes increasing stakes, they may try to add SOP exposure through their cheaper technology to produce then use sulfuric acid. At these prices Tim is right, it way undervalues TRA and CF is getting a great deal. For those who just bought the pop in price is time to take profits.

Just stating that the VIX is so high that even though we are trading with in a range right now, the traders are the ones doing most of the buying and selling. God Bless

I think you are totally correct. It would be strange if farming was a for profit situation as opposed to the current government supported business.

  • Comparing Fertilizers Stocks  [View article]
Very good article, I believe you are correct with respect of placing to the stocks you have mentioned. How do you feel about companies that specialize in Sulfate of Potash such as SQM and CMP. This is a smaller subsection that is realizing large profits and SOP is selling for upwards of $1000 a ton. Due to its usage with chloride sensitive plants, there are larger margins and farmers are much more apt to pay more for fertilizer. God Bless

  • Potash Arena Shrinking After BHP's Acquisition of Anglo Potash [View article]
Spectacular article, not only informative but also very well written. I currently have positions in Potash and Intrepid Potash as I believe that both have great growth over the next 3 years. If you have any information on IPI, could you please write an article or short comment and I will check back.
