As a Gulf Coast resident I see your point. Be quick these events are very short pops. Clean Harbors may be worth a look depending on the impact.

A a current programmer who lives in the real world I understand the gook. One of VRNG's founders is one who developed the algorithmic patterns in LYCOS and used to drink with Altucher years ago and is why Jim jumped into the fray. "Heard this from a talk Jim gave last weekend"

If Steve is in Norfolk thanks for putting up with the bridges and tunnels to write these article unless someone else is driving thus one would have time however the people are great.

Appreciate the Research. Charts with a good story works however we may differ on motives.

This was not like Joe Kennedy spreading false rumors both ways but the CEO could have stepped in with a more forceful approach thus he profited. When he did step in it did not give the market a warm and fuzzy.

Then 3 days ago they saw an opportunity. GLUU's board should buy that analyst steaks for life for what he contributed to their director.

I sold at 4.15 and bought back at 3.5 so I'll do ok on my very less than tiny portfolio. As long as you can see their playbook one could make some serious cash.

Still It smelled fishy. On the coast we call it sharky. Specifically GLUU and Bull Sharky

China will copy when it sees it in their Best interest
Cat worked very hard to make it not in China's best interest to copy
Cat retains some key technology so a total copy is impractical

    However
Many companies have attempted to copy CAT most to their peril.

One can Dis the UAW workers in Illinois but they can produce some products that have put other companies out of business trying to duplicate. This is less true now but it is true enough for critical parts to bear in mind.

Japan tried to copy and surround CAT and failed. One could place a safe bet if China tried they would experience the same result.

  • Vringo: What Has Happened And What I Think Will Happen [View article]
I think VRNG is a better bet than PIP since the govt is less involved.

I believe the person responsible for pulling the Anthrax should get the shot series of the old Anthrax vaccine developed in 1959 and was responsible for many adverse reactions (mostly due to bad manufacturing processes).

  • Up initially after striking a patent-purchase deal with Nokia (NOK +4.5%), Vringo (VRNG -3.5%) has sold off to $3.32. The fact Vringo will be financing the deal with a $31.2M stock offering featuring a sale price of $3.25/share is a likely reason why. Nokia, however, is holding onto most of its gains - investors probably care less about the deal per se than the fact it shows Nokia is serious about its stated plans to better monetize its IP. When Cat Buys either companies or technology they take a Warren Buffet view toward their purchase. Remember when he made an investment in GE for 20 a share?

Though every purchase was not successful they did not become market leaders in many products dealing with short or mid term market timing.
