After graduating cum laude with a BA in economics from Harvard, I worked in hedge funds and investment banking for ~6 years before leaving to manage my own money full time. I am a CFA charterholder and focus mostly on microcaps / event-oriented trades as that is where I think the market tends to be least efficient. I also started a website to track interesting arbitrage opportunities for individual investors (link below) - check it out!
I am a combat veteran of two tours...one to Iraq, one to Afghanistan. After my service, I attended a community college and transferred to the University of Washington and was studying finance. As I continued my studies, I became obsessed with the Financial markets and ended up dropping out a mere two quarters away from graduation. I started working full time and started trading part time, and the time that I would have spent studying went into learning everything I could about the markets. I have digested so much information over the last three years, but I am always hungry for more. I do have a professional type education in technical analysis and use this for both day and swing trading futures and options. As I have become more profitable and less attached to my trading software (Tradestation &ThinkorSwim,) I have developed a desire to network with other traders. If you are a veteran who has found his way into the market, and are perhaps unsure of where to turn for help, I can offer you some help and refer you to my own mentor who is pretty awesome when it comes to helping out service members.
