Energy Secretary Chu Wimps Out Again [View article]
Chew on this Chu! Natural Gas is abundant, inexpensive, clean-burning and not imported. I'd be checking his credentials if he can't figure that one out. Where is the problem with promoting it? I might say that he might be dumber that a box of rocks, but that wouldn't be kind, so I won't.

Natural Gas is a great crutch. It's 80% Hydrogen already and there's over a 100 year supply and the down side is? Also to the person concerned about liquified gases in tunnels. We're talking about compressed gas, which is methane which is lighter than air and dissipates when released as opposed to propane which is liquid and heavier than air and pools when released.

I think the transition to Natural Gas will be made by transportation companies first and smaller vehicles later. To switch your fleet from expensive diesel to a fuel that's less than half in cost is a no brainer. When that happens, smaller compressors for cars will soon follow and proven supplys of natural gas are now estimated to be well over 100 years. Renewables will most certainly will be developed by then, but why not use an abundant, clean-burning, economical fuel that's available totally at home instead of sending all that money overseas?

Where's the problem with it? If I could find somebody to convert my Navigator I'd be there in a heart beat and I'd put a "Phil"(Fuelmaker Corp.) natural gas compressor on the wall of my garage and never see another gas station again.
Norman you ignorant s__t!, (as Dan Ackroyd would have said to Jane Curtain). With regards to Chesapeake Energy and the potential use of Natural Gas as a vehicle fuel, Cramer is right on. The fuel is abundant, clean-burning, inexpensive, and all we will need for the next 120 years, or so, is available right here in the United States.

Honda makes a production Civic NGV that comes from the factory set up to burn Natural Gas and Fuelmaker Corp. in Canada makes a Natural Gas Compressor that hangs on your garages wall and is no more dangerous than your water heater and makes the same amount of noise that your clothes dryer. You fill up every evening and drive 200 miles during the day and never go to a gas station. How could things be any easier than that?
