Massive Opportunity to Short the Dollar

I don't really know too much about currency trading, BUT ISN'T IT CRAZY LADIES & GENTLEMEN that our U.S. Dollar fluctuates at all? IT SHOULDN'T. Everytime the dollar goes down, our wealth diminishes (including all the dollar denominated stocks and other assets). Our paper currency is just garbage, and truthfully, this author has an excellent point about the U.S. Dollar.

Many countries hate us because of Iraq and our human rights abuses around the world. What if foreign countries decide to suddenly dump their dollars - goodbye dollar, goodbye USA! OUR WORLD STATUS / DOMINATION WILL BE GONE OVERNIGHT. It's too bad that foreign governments can use OUR DOLLAR AS A LETHAL WEAPON AGAINST US.

Gracie - you state "US data released today didn’t give any strong indication of which way the US economy is going to head towards...."

However, your title says it all.. "Oil Jumps, Stocks Slide, Dollar Succumbs." THE US ECONOMY IS HEADED TO HELL IN A HANDBASKET. So, while the Fed talks "strong dolar policy," nothing is being done to actually strenghten the dollar.

The Fed can talk until it's blue in the face, but until the US returns to solid economic policy and stops spending money like there is no tomorrow, the United States and its dollar will continue to deteriorate.

The irony is that the US is evolving from the strongest nation on earth with a respected dollar into a nation which is loathed and a currency that is feared because it is falling so much in value.

Ireland Rejects EU Treaty, and Euro Falls Hard

Gracie - I beg to differ! This EU Libson Treaty isn't about "modernizing the EU's decision making process. This is about centralization of power and the ultimate destruction of any sovereignty that the eueopean nations have left. This treaty would "neuter" the nations of Europe & is one more step toward world government and world dictatorship.
Hooray for Ireland for refusing to give up their independence. This is good for Ireland and all the nations of the world!

Compared with Canada, U.S. Economy Looks OK

I agree with Sophisse. I'm not worried about Canada. With their literal "gold mine" of minerals, oil, diamonds, lumber and other natural resources, I'm sure Candada will do just fine. It's the good ol' USA that I'm more worried about. Wasn't there just news of Ford cutting more US jobs? Also Ford in going to manufacture their Ford Fiesta in Mexico (the land of elitist criminals & drug cartels). And the environmental wackos are forcing the US to produce ethanol (see Mark Perry's excellent 1 page article on ethanol seekingalpha.com/artic... - ) instead of drilling for the vast oil rescources that we are sitting right on top of. America will die if we do not bring back our manufacturing base. We cannot continue to be a nation of services only. Imagine if China one day decided to cut off everything they now supply to the U.S. Imagine!
