1929 All Over Again?

While only about one in four Americans work for corporations with more than 500 people, these large corporations wield far more power and generate far more profit than their more numerous little brother corporations who employ most Americans and give us our unique national character as a nation of "can do" entrepreneurs which is the envy of the world and the true economic engine of the world.

But most large government agencies are controlled by big corporations and huge, inefficient bureaucracies whose basic goal is self-perpetuation. They have far more power than government bureaucracies except in matters of national self-defense, police departments, education, etc.

For example, the IRS, the FDA and NCI are revolving door organizations where ambitious and talented people often take jobs for a few years only to learn how corporations can use these agencies for their own profit. Then they take jobs in corporations which pay ten times the salaries they earned in these government agencies. The sole purpose of their new jobs is to instruct the corporations on the art and science of sidestepping the laws and regulations of these agencies.

When Hitler and the Nazis took over the corporate bureaucracies of Germany, they called it National Socialism but the rest of the world correctly defined it as fascism.

If the American government really finds it necessary to control the corporate bureaucracies to save them from their own greed, immorality and ineptitude, America will be fascist, not socialist.

I don't want either one but we shouldn't confuse the two.

When the rich are in the process of losing their money because it is being distributed to the poor, then you can start worrying about socialism.

When the rich are in the process of shoring up a failing system with the goal of keeping their wealth then you can start worrying about fascism.
