    Yale's endowment is a little less than Iceland's GDP which is a sobering thought, in itself.

    Maybe Yale should declare itself to be an independent country and offer citizenship to its faculty and student body.

    Then they could raise taxes or even run a national deficit.

    Yale could then import goods and services, export their discoveries and inventions the way other countries do and have treaties with other countries such as Harvard, China and MIT.

    It would solve a lot of problems.
