some of the dumbest arguments i've ever seen made in print... if he's legitemately retarded, i'm sorry for making fun.
but seriously, an economic (or any academic) argument should have to proceed from the same principle as scientific method to be considered credible by objective people. gather all of the facts, look at them objectively, not selectively, avoid or eliminate logical fallacies, contradictions, double-think, bias, wishful thinking, moralizing, preaching to the choir, and ignoring clear opposing facts that aren't even acknowledged to be refuted. most of all, back up your statements with facts/supporting arguments. remember, most of your readers realize they're stupid; they believe people who pretend to be smart/objective as long as the viewpoint makes them feel good.
starting with a conclusion/agenda and then looking for selective facts or half-truths to support it isn't science it's preaching.. even from a socialist dork.
