  • More on the Dangers of Leveraged ETFs [View article]
the referenced ETFs, DUG, UNG and USO are not leveraged, i believe , since they are meant to track variatiions in Oill and Nat Gas on a 1 :1 basis. How can they be? Are the references in the title erroneous? Am I wrong?

  • Breaking Up with ETFs is Hard To Do [View article]
UNG has to be a bargain at these levels. Of course I bought in a lot higher not realizing the slowdown would hit all/most energy equities . I feel the same way about KOL, the coal company tracking ETF (Stowe index)

  • Natural Gas Fund Is Flaming Out [View article]
Im in the same boat as you, Gary. After poring over the prospectus for UNG, I invested anyway because I wanted a position in NG. The tracking of the commodity itself, as you duly noted, has been horrible. I hope the contango and backwardation do balance over time, however, and I really only see upward pressure on prices , especially going into the winter.

there will always be greater value in coal and NG vs. oil simply because they are more plentiful and available in the good old USA !
