I am not expecting that the Whole Foods shopper will suddenly start to buy cheap and poisoned food. This customer has an underlying belief that organic=better health and will not readily trade that for a few dollars off. Organic buyers are careful shoppers and have already made the trade off between price and quality. Buying organic includes a belief system in an entire system of agriculture that, once acquired, will not easily be shaken. That said it may prove harder to acquire new customers in the future.
