Any parent out there will tell you , stating my friends did it too/ told me to/ wanted to / tried it/ is no kind of defence.

The answer to this is clear, make any settlement short term to and open to complete review every few years...

There are plenty of poorly informed punters here quick to slag it off, but in terms of REAL service Paypal has eased the lives of many with cheap methods for moving small amounts of cash.
Prior to this many people had to pay huge fees to money handlers who flew back witht monies but took a hefty cut to do it.

I dont see the same moats here, music and ebooks can be sold buy lots of people including goog, controlling advertising online, requires huge investment against a couple of big intrests with deep pockets.

Amazon and apple both have great brands, but neither has a true moat, Google has a reasonable barrier to entry.

When the net showed up everyone declared the client dead. It seems a good 15 years later people are back saying the cloud will replace the OS the Cloud break the upgrade cycle the cloud will free IT.

Just like other "Compete" posts the story leaves out data that does not fit.

Many of the amazon sales are "marketplace" sales , where amazon is taking a small fee and does not have anything to do with prime or free shipping.
And as to "new ace in the hole" it is years old.
