Whose Notebook PC Business Is Most Valuable?

This is all silly. "notebook PC " is just a name given to a seg of a seg of a market.

Or did they mean laptop?


Because if this is really about notebooks, then it is a waste, notebook are just small laptops, and netbooks are just rubbish notebooks,

And all the while laptops will blend twist turn with lots of new names and still be computers that you can take with you.

Perhaps in a few years we will all be talking about apple branded GOOGTEL machine... :)

Here is a nice fact , unable to keep up apple abandoned its users and moved to the WINTEL platform designed by intel and microsoft. Thanks to the tights specs that WINTEL provides apple can and does make an apple branded wintel machines, same parts from the same comanies off the same shelves.

it shows that in the global market apple has been unable to displace msft, to any degree to all.


It is important because apple users would like the public to believe that the world is swinging to them but the fact is they are only holding ground in the global market and nothing else

Dell does not have a "failing PC business" . launching any new products that might have higher margins is the best thing they can do....

If you were talking about a magic $7billion that say Gates just gifted to dell for free and grossed up the tax, then sure that would change the picture.
But existing cash is part of the current picture. Sure they have money to invest, if they didnt they would be worth less.

I know a lot of you guys here love apple , but you are breaking rule number one of investing. NEVER FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR STOCK.

Dell would be silly not to enter the phone market to some degree, they have many of the parts already in place to make and sell phones.
