  • Has China Manipulated The Gold Market? [View article]
China didn't announce its increase over the weekend, I remember seeing it in the news Friday morning (EDT) and didn't see any price changes around the timing of the news.

  • Palladium Outperforming Platinum [View article]
Your platinum/palladium ratio for SPPP is incorrect. You state 70% platinum and 30% palladium. There is actually more than twice as many ounces of palladium as there are platinum...

I'm surprised you didn't even mention all of the "March against Monsanto" protests staged last weekend around the world.

  • What Is A Gold ETF? Four Facts That May Surprise You [View article]
Allowing naked shorting of GLD means the shorter doesn't deposit physical metal for his shares short; hence, the amount of physical gold held does not equal what the long shareholders assume is held.

  • China Initiates Gold And Silver Futures Trading [View article]
I thought PAGE was cancelled. I have heard also that that cancellation news wasn't correct, so I guess we aren't sure, but seems it would have been too good to be true that it was going to happen.

  • Does GLD Really Hold Gold, Or Is It A Scam? [View article]
The author failed to point out the issue of shorting the ETF. A short-seller does not deposit gold into the fund, so when the buyer on the other end of the short sale "thinks" there is physical gold backing his buy, he is not. In the SLV silver ETF this issue was brought up to its custodian Blackrock and the short interest declined quite a bit due to the bad publicity Butler's documentary brought to it.

  • Why Is George Soros Selling His Gold And Buying Farmland? [View article]
Another gold/silver fund option is Central Fund of Canada (CEF) which may also have tax advantages for you, as well as often being available for a discount to its gold/silver bullion. MOO has companies that should be great investments, but would not invest directly in it for moral/ethical reasons with Monsanto. I could consider going long MOO and shorting the Monsanto component in unison.

  • Capitalizing on the Rise in Silver Prices [View article]
This is a very good article. I have followed silver real-time for years and seen so many "takedowns" where stops are triggered and the price graph drops straight down. Usually you will see a sharp drop, then maybe a little 10 minute "bull flag" before a 2nd takedown. Then when you see the price slowly start back up, it is then time to buy. I would really like to take delivery on a futures contract (to skip the premium I pay on 100 oz. bars thru metals dealers), but have yet to open a futures account because none of them have sufficiently given me the real details step-to-step of just what will be required (the steps, additional fees, whatever) to get the silver into my hands. Instead I get cold-calls and vague documents emailed to me.

  • Palladium's Perfect Storm for the Automakers [View article]
The new nickel/copper extraction process by Norilisk, from what I've read, is theorized in being the reason for their exiting of their huge stake in Stillwater Mining since PGMs would now not be a part of their objectives.
