  • Emageon Deal Bombs: My Failure in Discipline [View article]
On the 10th, the price abruptly dropped from $2.65. It tripped my 20pct trailing stop. I was out with a profit but not nearly the profit that I expected.

The price immediately rebounded to around $2.40. I was angry that the momentary drop caused me to lose on the previous gain and the expected gain.

The next day the deal failed. I felt like a blithering genius for using a trailing stop.

    DISK is looking good.

There's still chance that Q Black will reneg ala Stanford.

What about Emageon's chances? Zero. Stanford will be banished FOREVER from all stock trading folderol.

  • Puget Energy Update: Merger Is Currently On Track [View article]
    I just read an article
    www.pnwlocalnews.com/w...

Basically, communities can start their own utilities, can seize PSE's (subsidiary of PSD) hardware and provide electricity from the Bonneville Power hydroelectric grid at a cheaper price.

Ostensibly this is because they object to foreign ownership. MacQuarie is Australian (?).

PSD thinks this customer revolt is serious. It might kill the deal.

  • Today's True Safe Haven Investments [View article]
When the author cites "huge above ground " gold reserves, he should also give the link or source for this statement.

    1) How much is above ground?
    2) What is the yearly or monthly consumption rate?
    3) What is the yearly or monthly production rate?

Some charts or spreadsheets would help alot.

  • AECOM Technology Corp. Estimates Continue to Rise [View article]
I can't find any confirmation of the earnings pct increases claimed in the article.

    100%, 83%, 93%, 81%, 12%, and 59%?

Without the source, they seem wildly unlikely.

  • Coal Investors Partying Like It's 1999 [View article]
I'm trying to correlate these articles.
    www.chron.com/disp/sto...
    www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/...

The first says Japan pays $250 per ton for metallurgical coal.
The second says Northern Appalachian metallurgical coal sells for $110 per ton.

Does that mean it costs $140 per ton to ship to Japan? Or does this mean Japan's scarcity might soon cause ANR's precious coal to double in price?
