I heard about Crocs one day on the radio. They were discussing them on some ladies investment club news report. I told my wife, if they are talking about buying Crocs on the radio, you definitely do not want to own the stock.
I picked up a pair of them at the mall and put the garish monsters back. They appeared to be nothing more than injection molded plastic. China could reverse engineer the design in a week and have them on the market in 6 months. Even if they are not just plastic, they look like plastic.
The sell advice is sound. If a company is not acting like it is supposed to, then something is wrong and it should be sold. You can always buy it again if things straighten out.
Crocs as of August 1, 2008 closed at $4.44. I remember looking at the shoes in Nordstroms last year and saying I found it hard to believe the Chinese had not flooded the market with these things. They are just injection molded garishly colored plastic. Was there EVER anything truly unique or valuable about them? Sadly no. As many people pointed out in posts before mine.
