When - not "if", but WHEN - the Obama Administration mimics FDR and once again makes gold ownership illegal for U.S. citizens, silver will be the "only game in town" as an accessible form of precious metal in useful [ read: negotiable] form. Might silver - at least in bullion form - also be taken away ? Sure, but that might also be the "line in the sand" for heretofore complacent Americans.
