I said "...an experiment", not a full-blown implementation. And since it would be the only mainstream gold-backed currency, it wouldn't take much, as an experiment, Remember.....

Watch for China to undertake an experiment in a gold-backed currency by using their gold, newly returned to Hong Kong from the United Kingdom, as backing for the Hong Kong Dollar. It'll be an experiment, a "stalking horse" if you will, in preparation for backing the Yuan itself with gold.

Hasn't anyone asked themselves WHY China has kept the Hong Kong Dollar alive all these years after they got Hong Kong, itself, back?

This has been the best butter-the-chumps rally since May-June of 1981. But that was like, sooooooo 20th century, man.

  • Dollar Rises, Gold Stays Up [View article]
Let's see..... gold and $USD both going up.... what's wrong with this picture? Well, one of the two is going to "give". Which will it be... which will it be ? Oh dear, such a decision..... a currency with a 3000+ -year history and whose value as money is beyond reproach ( gold ) ..... or a currency that traces its true "birth" to August 15, 1971 ( the $USD since Nixon closed the "gold window" ) and whose value is dependent upon finding a "bigger fool" somewhere ?

Yeah...... I'll bet on gold, how 'bout you ?
