Why It's Actually Different This Time

I have such a hard time reconciling what I think I know, and what I see. I know the world is in deep do-do, and have actually been expecting a meltdown for years. When politicians and economists would say "deficits don't matter", I knew we were in trouble.

Yet, I went shopping on Sunday to multiple shopping areas, and had trouble finding a parking space at any of them. Almost every store was absolutely crowded.

I can't connect those dots.
