The Real Reasons Fertilizer Stocks Are In the Dirt [View article]
Grain levels still at record lows. That statement says it all.Populations are exploding.Food shortages won't be an issue?I doubt that. The same reasons for the commodity gains are still out there.Reduced demand?how do you figure?Unless people start dropping dead at a high rate,I don't see the reduced demand.Look at oil. What has changed since they ran the price up to 149$?Do they think with cheaper gasoline that people will drive less?Don't look now but many areas in this country have no gasoline.I have had people fron N.Carolina to Florida tell me stations are out gas or getting shorted on their deliveries.Has Iran decided to play ball with the IAEA?See what I mean?Nothing has changed, but we are supposed to believe that there is more than enough oil, plenty of fodd so commodities are a dead issue.Bull.
That should be "not seen Buffet.."One of my famous typos.I think it has something to do with my fingers. Ah hegde funds, wouldn't life be great without them. They seemed like a good idea a few years back but now many invested in them are losing their asses.
Take a valium,FreshOne.The sky is not falling.Just the stock market. The world will move past all this.It always does.A once in a lifetime opportunity to buy great companies cheap.I have seen Buffet point a gun a gun at his head yet.
MOS has even more cash flow to come. With population growth and booming economies,we will see Idia and China make animal protein a bigger part of their diet. They will need to produce more grains to feed cattle, hogs. They will need potash in large supplies. These are the facts, not speculation.Hedge fund shorting only makes for better buying opportunities.I don't blame the author for holding this stock.Good article.

Maggie is correct. As the price of oil goes down(with gasoline to follow),people will use more. Thus the price will rise. The fact is there are no new LARGE oil fields to be found. The world still uses more than they can produce.Any drop in price will prompt hoarding, careless use and of course up it goes again.Drops in price now should be good entry points.Production of Ethanol though not a good use of the resource, and not very cost effective, will rise in the future.

I anyone really believes the commodity run is over, guess again.Population growth will drive food, oil, etc. When the world's population starts to decline, then I might be a believer.Economic slowdowns will occur, but growth is inevitable.

I have learned to take quite a few grains of salt with any comments from ALPHA.In house short sellers use this as a forum to spread their rumors and conjecture to move a stock in the direction they desire.Take AMSC for example. At 32$ per share they were noting how the CEO had sold shares and that they really have no real products in the wind technology space and that you would be better off with GE.Todays price is in the 43$ range.Don't take to heart what you read at SEEKING ALPHA,they have their own agenda.
