The author is missing the point. It's not un American to recognize that the single greatest predictor of a child having wealth in it's future is weather or not his/her parents have wealth.

Knowing that, we have some obligation to the children of the less well off. Unfortunately, what happens is liberals create wealth and government redistributes it to conservatives. This is, of course, the opposite of the received conservative opinion in the media, and indeed in most of academia. But it is true.

And Bush cut taxes and we lost 800,000 jobs per month. If only we could all live in the fantasy land of right wingers that says all you have to do to create jobs is give another tax cut to billionaires...

Most min wage jobs that can be replaced by machines, already have been. What's left is a bunch of low skill jobs filled with people who can't be replaced. The anti minimum wage folks are running out of excuses at this point. Corporate profits are at an all time high, its time for some of those gains to be shared with Average Americans.

Early polls show Obama's approval ratings are recovering, while Republican approval ratings remain near historical lows. This is a winning issue for Democrats, and they will milk it all the way to a 2014 and 2016 victory.

The only reason the USPS has a deficit to begin with is a law passed under Bush that requires pre funding of pension liabilities 50 years into the future. No other private company is would do something that. It's a man made or govt made problem, and once again we see conservatives doing what they do best, screwing things up.
