  • Sirius XM Q1 Preview: Which Metrics Matter [View article]
Unless everyone I have spoken with at Sirius call centers have been told to tell people who call in, that they are handling more new subscribers than cancellations, a lot of people are going to be pleasantly surprise, except for those like wholesalecd who obvious are paid bashers as Relmor and others have noted. I have made quite a lot of calls and have been told the same by everyone. Do you know that there are approximately 500 people hired at their large call centers taking calls? I believe there are two in the US and at least one in the Philippines. I have heard numbers of anywhere between 20 and 60 subscribers per attendant per day. The cancellations are running between 5 and 10. Let's see who's right.
If these numbers are positive, there will be a sale by a large company, within six months if the economy continues showing signs of pulling out of the recession. The suitors know that eventually car sales will return and most of the cars will have SAT radio installed. I heard quotes of possibly 90% of the cars by year's end. Also any company, who has cash, realizes that with a better marketing program SAT radio will be a cash cow.
Read up on how Coke used a strong marketing approach to overcome the strangle hold that one particular company had at the time on this sector. You want even recognize the name, but they were very successful at the time and were run out of business. I have no doubt that others see this as well who are more knowledgeable than I.
Also, isn’t it strange that the person who had all those shares in Sirius is no longer going after them legally and in the press? He must know something as well. Again more
Just a heads up, I jumped out at 7, so I am not one who has believed in this company 100% and have now regretted it, but I got cold feet. Just have a good feel on how the pieces are coming together. Prior to the recent MLB rumor, I thought MLB was crazy not to get more exposure to their sport. Young kids are finding other interest and they need to increase the exposure in anyway possible. Baseball and radio are so much a better fit than any other sport can be. As they many claim turn on your TV, lower the sound and then listen to your radio. It is really something!!!!!
A serious Sirius convention of die heart investors would be something as well, if we are proven right.
