I have seen the guy above, the MAD SPAMMER - posting the same comment on each solar article appearing on Alpha for the past month. Mad, when you do this your credibility goes out the window as it appears to be spam to drum up business for your rinky dink operation. If you have nothing new to add, please stop it.
Solar's Dead Cat Bounce May Be Over [View article]
nice - another guy with a crystal ball - doesn't even do the DD to get correct info - I will bookmark this article and send it back to him in a couple of months when solar bounces after the collapse of the dollar and commodities fly up.
Three Short Ideas: PF Chang's, Palm, LDK Solar [View article]
I would be concerned of a short squeeze on LDK if anything. There are fundamental changes going on regarding this company like poly silicon bottoming, china credits, etc. which could crush a shorter ala AIG yesterday.
Barron's Wrongly Gets Sensational over First Solar's Earnings Beat [View article]
Bill Alpert is 60% sensationalistic 40% fact. And the sad thing is he moves markets. Someone on Alpha should do an article on him and his coverage of the entire solar industry in which his timely negative articles often coincide with good news on any particular solar company.
As Solar Sector Flies, Pay Attention to Values [View article]
Another wary article from a guy who has missed advised several times. Please readers, take a look at my comments from his last ill-timed article. Also, look where the solars were at the time he called the "dead cat bounce over" in relation to where they are now:
No mention of China is a very good point. Sure a pull back makes sense, but mid 40's? What do you know that we don't? Predicting a 25% correction wow. I do agree, a pull back is a buying opportunity for the future.
Solar's Dead Cat Bounce May Be Over [View article]
Nice call last week - you misguided people with numerous errors in math and if anyone followed you they would have been missing a huge since this article. Your timing is horrible and stinks of alterior motives. I noticed you took your picture off too.
For all novices to investing: You are better recieving "news" from briefing.com instead of this kind of prediction nonsense. these guys are rampant on Alpha and they will lose you loads of money.
Still we need some DD out there to exactly what the end cost is if $25 kg is just the production cost. It seems to me reading the last CC trasnscript, they are hell bent on get production cost optimized. They say in the CC they feel they could get production cost to the low $30's/KG. Well, at $25/KG or lower they have. So, again, what is the final end cost of 15,000 MT?
It appears to be lower than the $80KG by as much as $10 KG.
I am surprised that there is no mention of a recently implemented ban on scrap poly silicon in China. This, in the face of a glut, is very helpful for the poly makers ie LDK. It has already bumped the price of the spot price up $5.00 and has further solidified a bottom in this commodity, at least in China. While the analysts predict doomsday, wall of worry scenarios on the poly players in China (much like they did for LVS -going out of biz, FCX - no copper demand, etc. back in march) We are presently approaching an area where accumulating these stocks will hold long term gains that will be substantial.

I still believe the 1st qtr was the bottom. Also, poly silicon prices are finally seeing a steady increase which is what everyone should follow: pvinsights.com
That said, i am watching Sept & Oct as months of serious price declines in the overall market after the huge run up we had. I hope I am wrong, but I suspect you will be able to get just about anything cheaper in 2 months from now. Then, along with commodities, solar will be ready for a nice, sustainable move up.

Zack, if the USD's fall accelerates and inflation ensues, it should bode well for commodities such as oil and precious metals. How will it effect solars?

"LDK's silicon costs are below $25 per kilogram at present and will drop below $20 in the near future..."
That seems pretty clear to me.
Still I want verification and I am shocked no one has followed up on this.

the above link is by a news company that is often referred to by Briefing.com. Could it be a misquote? If it is true it wld be huge for LDK.
