  • Under Armour's EU Exposure Just Right [View article]
    Z,

I am not a Cramer "fan" but, once again, you show your ignorance. The guy averaged over 20% per year for 10 straight years. That is AFTER taking 2% for operational fees and 20% of the profits (typical 2/20 model). The dumbest thing you said in your grammatical debacle was that "he never could have done it without anyone else's money". Do you realize that the guy has a law degree from Harvard? He was recruited by Goldman (they only hire the smartest) and worked with Eddie Lampert (look him up...he is another hedge fund guru that happens to now be the richest guy in Connecticut).

My point? A guy like Cramer (like him or not) would mop the floor with you in ANY aspect of the market. Hell, I would mop the floor with you. You bring no substance to your analysis of UA. None. You talk about "buying good companies" and "letting it ride". What a novel concept!!! Guess what, bro!!! People did the same thing with World Com, Enron, RIMM, etc. It isn't enough to own a couple pairs of UA shorts and declare yourself an authority. The market makes examples out of guys like you every day (arrogant and not very smart).

We do agree on one thing...UA is a good company. I don't think the fundamentals come close to supporting the stock price, but time will tell. I believe it is significantly overvalued here. Am I right? We will have to see. I would never be foolish enough to "drink the kool aid" the way you do though. You have zero objectivity when speaking about UA.

I don't know guys...UA at $30 seems like an Armageddon number to me. Are you talking pre or post split? I think it deserves a premium, but not a PEG of 2.

    Thomas,

Why waste your time with this guy? You are clearly a superior thinker and have a much stronger foundation then "Indian". He is a cheerleader...nothing more. I am short UA into earnings. I will cover either way after they announce. I think they are a great company but NKE's miss coupled with almost every other retail stock (LULU included) getting taken to the woodshed tells me that the risk / reward is in my favor. Of course, shorting is a difficult game. I have lost before and I will lose again. I think this is good for 10% or so. I am short at $95. Good luck!!!

Bro...ever hear of proof reading. Even if you had great points, nobody can take you seriously with 10 or so errors. Also, NKE is not overvalued. UA is over valued. It has nothing to do with which company is better. A PEG of 2+ for UA is just too much. Jeane...wait for a pullback. July 12th is when they announce. A lot of retail stocks are getting killed (DECK, FOSL, TIF, NKE, etc.) The risk / reward says wait in my view. Also, we had a very mild winter and UA sells a lot of winter gear. The stock is priced for perfection here.

What they do have going for them is very little international exposure. Time will tell...

    Tikigod,

It blows my mind that more people don't do exactly what you outlined. If there is a company you would absolutely own, but the price is a little high, then sell a put!!! You get paid to get the price you want. No brainer.

  • I Hate To Interrupt Today's Rally, But ... [View article]
Exactly...if people would sew their mouths shut and stop walking around with 50 extra pounds around their waist(s) then a large % of our society's health problems would evaporate. People are lazy though, so this won't happen. They would rather take a pill for cholesterol, diabetes, and high blood pressure then just eating better. Pretty pathetic.

I am surprised you aren't short UA as well. The Nike news is telling for UA regardless of the fact that they have less international exposure. UA is priced for perfection here. I think it is an excellent company (love their stuff) but a good short going into earnings.

I tend to agree. I thought this site was about sharing ideas. An author proposes a thesis and others learn, comment, disagree, whatever. If you never read what is said then how can you (author) grow? Seems incredibly arrogant, really.

    John...

I agree that some of the defense names appear, at face value, to be good buys, however, I can't help but think their futures can not be as bright as their past. I am not being chicken little here, but with a crushing deficit that is only growing cuts are inevitable in all areas of government spending. If Romney gets the nod I still think it won't matter. Math is math and cuts are coming. I would buy these with that in mind.

I am curious to know why you included NUE and not cyclicals like CMI and CAT? I bought both these names (and immediately regretted it!!!), and think they represent value here, although I am well aware they could go much lower. Your thoughts?

  • Challenging Baidu's Critics: Buy Into Current Weakness [View article]
I wonder what will happen to Baidu when Google gets the green light in China. I know this is not going to happen in the near term but it will happen someday. My inclination is that Google would go to $1000 in short order and Baidu would get crushed even though Baidu has a commanding lead. Just the notion of increased competition would be a major head wind for Baidu. I am long Baidu but am monitoring the situation closely.
