  • Let's Get Real About Inflation [View article]
Inflation is probably far worse than we're being told - there's a whole list of ways people are being ripped off by inflation but don't even realize it When the lid blows off the inflation cover-up, I wonder if investors will be prepared.

  • Veolia: Should You Buy This 5.6% Yielder? [View article]
Agreed. I found this post helpful although I have favored Suez over VE as a preferred way to ride the Eurozone recovery, IMO. Helpful overview of water stocks here Very little information out there sadly, on water stocks. Thanks for the good post, please keep them coming.

  • California Drought A Huge Opportunity For Small-Cap Energy Recovery Inc. [View article]
Excellent article Michael as always. I was happy to see you'd written on ERII because there's surprisingly little info out there on the company. I'm keen on water-sector stocks (general sector overview I found helpful) but have been frustrated by the lack of material available. Anyways relating to CWCO I'm also bullish and have noticed the stock pull back a little in recent months and am looking at it again and would encourage you to let us know your thoughts in more detail on the company if you have time.

  • Buy Growth At A Fair Price With Aegion [View article]
Thanks for the article. Very little information on Aegion out there so your post is very welcome. In fact there's very little out there on water-related stocks, period. offers a helpful overview of the sector. Do you know what percentage Aegion's international business segments contribute to their overall revenue? Other than their Saudi contract I couldn't tell from the article what's going on for the company overseas. Thanks again, and keep up the helpful posts.

  • Cadiz: Helping To Hydrate A Thirsty California [View article]
Helpful article Tom. The risks on this one are huge, although admittedly if the company manages to pull it off the payoff is substantial. Very little information on water stocks out there ( provides a useful overview of the sector) so I appreciate your post. The confusing thing about this company is that if it's really an implosion waiting to happen (and based on the risk profile that's a distinct possibility) why the market cap has remained as high as it has --- tempts me to think there's possibly light at the end of the tunnel for this company (hopefully not a train).

  • Consolidated Water: A Speculative Bet On Desalinated Water [View article]
Thanks for the article Stephen. What I like about this company is the growth potential through its projects, which as you point out often are overlooked. Very little information out there on CWCO so everything's helpful! Good overview of water stocks here Keep up the helpful posts.

  • Warren Buffett's Portfolios Don't Reward Investors For The Added Risks [View article]
Robert you are a master at generating comment flow! Well, I liked your article, and enjoy the intensity of the back-and-forth you've triggered. As for financial heroes, Carl Icahn is a much better candidate than Buffett and definitely more entertaining!

  • The $1 Million Perpetual Income Portfolio [View article]
Agreed. I appreciate Morgan's article, and would only add that one of the best asset allocation strategies I know of is to simply avoid making some common mistakes (top 4 mistakes of asset allocation which I would have to admit I have often made!

  • Keystone XL: Investment Opportunities Amid The Controversy [View article]
Thanks for the excellent article Roger and agree with your points. The ones who are benefiting from all this is, in my opinion, buyers of bitumen producers. The bitumen producers have been trading at relative bargains (as Buffett figured out) and if the XL pipeline goes ahead the pricing should correct.

  • Bakken Update: Frac Sand Pricing Could Go Parabolic In Q3 2014 [View article]
HCLP, SLCA and EMES mentioned here but the article looks at an alternative way to play the frac sand boom (rail concept). BTW thanks for the good post Michael, excellent as always.

  • Another Day, Another Major Shale Discovery [View article]
Agreed. I like the article and appreciate it. But the magnitude of Alberta's bitumen resources is not only enormous but also very long lived, with low decline rates. But it gets comparatively little attention which may be why investors (like Buffett - can enter the market and acquire shares at reasonably low valuations. Still, no knocking the enormity of our shale oil discoveries, they're a blessing.

  • Why A Gold Play Finally Makes Sense [View article]
Good idea. Would like to get a discussion going about the best ways to hold physical gold in a portfolio --- some ideas here --- holding in physical form would be so much simpler if we could hold it like currency in a bank account.
