Four private female investors and one Dachshund.
We've consigned our careers as fund managers to the shredder, as we no longer have confidence that we can grow our clients' money anywhere near approaching the sparkling results that we achieved for them in the past.
Now Heidi and Desiree's investing interests involve global water distribution, agriculture, and timberland, while Clarissa and Helga manage strategies of certain commodities and hard assets.
We're also self-styled asset-manager vigilantes, who will bitch-slap those who take advantage of innocent retirees and other retail investors who have been ground into muesli by the Wall Street machine.
Sleazy RIA's, CFA's and 99% of the rest of financial "helpers" service their clients like Bonny and Clyde serviced banks.
As you can see, we're touchy, emotional, irascible, opinionated, and sometimes inebriated. But we admit that we do love the attention here on SA, so don't stop sending us those bawdy comments, angry criticisms, steamy love letters, veiled death threats, and tempting marriage proposals. Hey, you never know...
Oh, we almost forgot... While our names (Heidi, Helga, Clarissa and Desiree) may or may not be our real names, Schnitzel the Dachshund's name really is "Schnitzel the Dachshund."
so far, I have 4 sources of income.

4) Quick day trades, scalps, and swing trades
I stock-talk in SA about category #4. ALL EQUITIES HAVE RISK. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE.
I rub shoulders with the brightest and sharpest financial minds on a full-time basis. I have made great calls, I have made stupid calls over the course of my career as a professional investment executive.
As a student of the market, I use my educational background in psychology and business to understand the market environment and identify opportunities for generating performance. I have completed my MBA, obtained my CFA charter and I am a licensed derivatives trader.
My biggest aspiration for contributing on SA is to shine a light on stocks, bonds and volatility instruments so that the readers may learn and profit. I also find that writing to be quite stimulative and helps me improve my thought process, which is a huge bonus.
Hello SA. I'm happy to be a part of this great website. I have been a market watcher for many years, and have been a trader for 6 years back in the late 1980's and early 1990's. I have been a long-term investor since my early teens. I study and apply technical analysis, and I use common sense. I am a student of fundamental analysis, but I have a long way to go. That being said, I am very impressed with the trading style of some of the members here and have successfully incorporated some of their techniques into my toolbox. I hold a diversified portfolio of common stocks and mutual funds. I utilize many strategies at buying and holding long, and I have sold short as a trader and did fairly well with it. I endeavor to see the stock market in various ways. I study the general market outlook, but usually do not try to time the market as I believe that it's nearly impossible. I am holding issues such as Apple, McDonald's, Proctor and Gamble, Chevron, and Coca-Cola long-term.

I am an independent trader. I have been trading my own money for over 20 years.
I am focused on finding growth stocks that are priced like value stocks or stocks that are misunderstood or under followed. Generally, I buy stocks where I feel like my chances of losing money are low, but still offer the possibility of large gains. This almost always leads me to small and microcap cap stocks.
I joined Seeking Alpha to share some of my ideas with others. I hope they are profitable.
Please do your own due diligence and do not blindly buy stocks on Seeking Alpha articles alone (including mine).
I am a buy and hold common stock investor. Warren Buffett is definitely my guru. He makes the most sense to me. I began investing in the stock market at age 14 in 1970 with money earned on my paper route. What I have done since 1970 is invest primarily in the Dividend Aristocrats whenever the stock market is relatively low. I have never sold a single share of stock except on the rare occasion when one of my stocks was bought out for cash and I was forced to sell.. I keep all of my stock certificates or direct registration statements in a safe deposit box at the bank. I do not automatically reinvest dividends. I only purchase stocks when I feel that the stock market is relatively low. Brown University, B. A., 1978. Below are the 36 stocks in my portfolio.
