I think the market is being a little irrationally exuberant, in such a short period, we have went from disaster to relief to recovery? I want to be cautiously optimistic, but the truth is, I can't in a economy where I hear friends/friends' friends getting laid off all the time. While it's not dire strait yet for many of us that is fortunate/capable, the danger is lurking around the corner. It's hard to make any kind of financial commitments when we are uncertain about where the country is going 1 yr/2 yr/ 5 yr/ 10 yr/ 30yr from now. The climbing record deficit should really be giving us pause about the direction of this country.
While the finance world hasn't really done a good job in predicting the crash, I would think when alot in the community is looking at each other confused at this rally, it should give us pause and rethink about the implications.
The government should really focus on encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship instead of rescuing the old, the toxic, and the dead. By doing so, it will prompt us to rise above the world again and be prosperous permanently. All these QE, stimulus, and bailouts will do is buying us some time in the short term at the cost of our long term prosperity.
