    I stopped buying stocks that do not pay dividends ,at least 3%.
    By now you all must know SP500 basically stayed flat for the last 11 years . Imagine $10,000 in 1998 is still $10,000 in 2009.
    that is not going to work for IRA accounts.

    XOM should increase its dividends. all the monies buying back shares are totally useless.

    i agree with your thesis regarding dividend paying stock. I do not on tech stock that pay nothing . Problem is the 401k is based primarily based on mutual funds that have disappointed all of us (diversity did not pay ) and even those funds that focus on div types crashed . tobacco and energy is where i am
